I’m so happy and grateful that I got Grafia’s grant for this summer for my project called “Let all the flowers bloom”. This project is a surface pattern collection that is all about flowers and challenging gender stereotypes. I continue exploring the same themes in this collection than in my artworks; identity, gender and sexuality from the queer perspective. I’m going to collaborate and consult Retromies, the founder of Farkkukauppa by Retromies, about men’s wear. I’ll keep you updated how the project goes :D
STREET ART, EXHIBITION NEWS & COLLABORATION
I have some exiting news! First, I’ll be doing some street art next week!! My plan is to do a flower creature, something a bit similar than in the picture here :) I’m very happy for this opportunity.
Second, I’m gradually starting to make new artworks for my next exhibition “Otuksia ja muita ihmetyksiä” (Creatures and other wonders)!! The exhibition will be next October in Helsinki, I’ll share more details later.
Third, during the summer I will make my very first surface pattern and print collection! I’ll be collaborating with designer and tailor Retromies (who owns the Farkkukauppa -vintage and 2nd shop) :D I’ll keep you updated of the process.
MURAL at FARKKUKAUPPA
This is by far one of my most favourite commission work that I’ve done :) So, I painted a mural, a flower creature, to Farkkukauppa by Retromies - shop! I did this already last Christmas but I totally forgot to write about here :)

I’ve been exploring new ways of take photos of my work now when I’ve been spending so much time at home and our living room has become my studio :) I’m still dreaming of my own studio but due to these times I have postponed my studio plans until next Autumn.
